ScottThe Craftsman

Hi, I’m Scott, known by some as “Scott The Craftsman”. If you’ve found this page, then you probably share my love of beautiful wood furniture. These days fewer and fewer people appreciate the skill it takes to build quality wood furniture and cabinetry. My love of building furniture goes all the way back to my days in junior high and high school and my first mentor and shop teacher, J.C. Carter. In a few short years, Mr. Carter taught me a lot about building furniture. Since then, I’ve continued to build on the foundation he gave me, by learning from other great woodworkers and craftsmen who inspire me. I’m drawn to simple, classic designs that are strong and functional and I try to honor the wood in the way I design my pieces. At the same time, I’m always trying to stretch myself and challenge my abilities.

I’ve worked professionally as a machinist, carpenter, data analyst, and project manager. I’m proud to have served for more than ten years in the U.S. Army and am happy for the opportunity to serve our military community.
